Annual trends in semen parameters among men attending a fertility center between 2016 and 2022

BACKGROUND: Multiple studies have shown sperm concentration and count decline in many countries, however, authors conclusions were inconsistent. These types of not conducted Russia so far.
 AIM: To evaluate analyze semen parameters among men attending a fertility center St. Petersburg between 2016 2022.
 MATERIALS AND METHODS: In retrospective study 14234 consequent analyses performed according to WHO guidelines (2010) sorted, analyzed compared by year.
 RESULTS: The distribution the ejaculate volume did change over observation period. Azoospermia cryptozoospermia detected 597 (4.2%) 435 (3.1%) respectively. A downward trends for 1.6 million/ml (1.9%)/year 7 million (1.8%)/year found, with simultaneous annual increase 1.3% proportion progressively motile spermatozoa. No noticeable changes number spermatozoa normal morphology found.
 CONCLUSIONS: Further research is needed obtain final about gradual quality reproductive function men, also other centers Russian Federation.
